Global Education Garden
Preschool

About us

Global Education Garden, a school located in Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki City, aims to nurture the future leaders of the world in a bilingual setting with English conversation lessons every day, similar to an international school. We provide nursery school elementary school, middle school, up until high school graduation (age 18) levels of English grammar and conversation education.

Like A Real Siblings and Family:

Our teaching starts with nursery school until high school. So the older kids will play with the young children, and help them to learn and study, and the young kids will naturally reflect the same behavior and morals as they grow up and impart it on the next group of younger kids. This is unlike other schools, where kids will only interact with kids of their own age. Especially, in this day of Japan where there are a lot of only-children, our students, really fall into the role of forming sibling-like bonds and become a real family, which is reflected in the way they help each other, encourage each other’s growth, and get along. You won’t find another school like Global Education Garden (GEG) anywhere else in Japan.

Why Choose GEG?

Our school’s principal lived in America for 15 years. On top of that, our other teachers have bilingual experience from living abroad or are native English speakers, so the students can have fun experiences as they grow and learn English. Parents are also more than welcome to communicate in English to the teachers. Global Education Garden has English lessons twice everyday (in the morning and afternoon. In month, this totals to about 40 hours of learning. Of course, you can’t only learn English if you are living in Japan! To be able to call yourself bilingual, you need to be able to speak both English and Japanese. So not only do we teach English, but also regularly teach our students Japanese. We provide warm, homemade meals, teach hiragana, katakana, Japanese language, mathematics, arts and crafts, music, and have many events throughout the year. We also provide pick up and drop off service throughout the greater Kawasaki City area, throughout Shinyurigaoka, Noborito, Ikuta, Mizonokuchi, Kajigaya, Takatsu, Futako-Shinichi, Musashi-Shinjo, Musashi-Nakahara, Musashi-Kosugi, Motosumiyoshi, and Hiyoshi. We also run our transportation service from students’ other regular school. This way parents can work without worry!

Our Wish:

We believe that children at a young age are the most impressionable. It is our wish that during these formative years they learn the most, gain various experiences, overcome the obstacles of language, race and borders, connect and make a lot of friends, broaden their views internationally in order to create future leaders who are kind, open-minded, and ambitious individuals.

We will aim to:

Create a vertically integrated educational environment that spans from nursery school through high school. In this environment, older students will mentor and care for younger children, fostering a cycle of guidance, learning and responsibility. By providing opportunities for older students to teach, support and play with younger ones, we aim to cultivate a natural and spontaneous ability for them to give back as they grow, creating a harmonious community of continuous learning. In today’s Japan, where the birthrate is declining and there are many only children, the sight of children spending many years together, like real siblings and family, helping each other, growing together through friendly competition, and playing together is unique to Global Education Garden and not found anywhere else in Japan. And from the perspective of language, if you live in Japan, you cannot rely on English alone, nor can you be considered bilingual if you only speak Japanese. Global Education Garden offers not only English lessons and daily childcare, but also hot, homemade meals, lessons in hiragana, katakana, Japanese language, math, crafts, singing, and hosts annual events. We consider Global Elementary to be a “second home” for students. We want children to live and relax n a warm and welcoming atmosphere with many friends and staff. We aim to create an environment that will be a “second home” that combines three elements of a home: “a place to live,” “a place to play” and “a place to learn.” We believe that children can enjoy a fulfilling after school life in this “second home” and that our presence of welcoming them back with a warm “welcome home” and watching over them will help parents balance work and child-rearing. We want children to feel glad that they come to our after school,, and parents to feel that they can work with peace of mind and are glad they sent their children in our after school. We want to be the best support in “child-raising.”

Q: What types of plans are available for after school children?

A: There are 2 main plans available: 3 days a week and 5 days a week with 2 options. The two options are: from school’s dismissal until 7:00 PM or from school dismissal until 9:00 PM. If you would like to attend 4 days a week, please select the 5 days a week plan, and one day will be forfeited. If you would like to use a pick-up service, please apply for the number of days you would like to attend. If you select the option of “from school dismissal until 9:00 PM,” you will need to apply for the dinner plan. Changes to the after-school plans must be made by the end of the month, two months in advance from when you would like the change to be implemented, just like for day care. For example, if you need a plan that includes lunch because your child will be attending Global from the morning for a long period during summer vacation in August, please submit a change of notification by the end of June. If you would like lunch on a one-of basis, you do not need to change the plan, but please let us know the day before whether you would like lunch or not, or submit a schedule showing the days and times your child will attend school for the month, and whether or not they will need meals. *Please note that you will need to submit a new plan change notification even if you no longer need meals.

About After School Program

Q: About Global’s After School appeals and charms:

A: Global‘s After School program is taught by Japanese, foreign, and bilingual teachers. The appeal of this education is that it incorporates both English and Japanese in students’ daily English lessons. Students who receive after school care can receive this service without separate payment. For other subjects, we also have worksheets and drills (Japanese and math) based on the textbooks they are using at their private school. Depending on the level they are doing at their private school, this can start earlier. We also prioritize moral education, so we will face any bullying or other issues through one-on-one meetings. Even if students are dealing with bullying at school, Global is a place where students can come to for support, as it is like a second home. Q: Is it possible for my child to come in the morning during long holidays, like summer vacation?

A: We can take care of your children from the morning during long holidays. They will do their school homework and math, science, and Japanese language studies from the morning. Of course, they can come in the morning on any holiday, and not just long ones.

Q: Do you have transportation service?

A: Our transportation covers a wide area of Kawasaki City, including Shin-Yurigaoka, Noborito, Ikuta, Mizonokuchi, Kajigaya, Takatsu, Futako-Shinichi, Musashi-Shinjo, Musashi-Nakahara, Musashi Kosugi, Motosumiyoshi, and Hiyoshi, and we will pick up your children from each school after school. We will also take them back to their homes, making us a great ally for busy parents.

Q: Are meals and snacks available?

A: On days when there is no school lunch or during long holidays, we provide warm meals cooked by a chef for lunch for the children to enjoy. We also provide snacks that they can eat when they come from school.

Q: What is the “After School Program” listed on the After School Schedule?

A: This is a program where foreign teachers teach practical English through actual experiences such as math, practical training, sports, and music in English about seven times a month. Those who sign up for the 5 times a week plan can take English lessons 5 times a week, those who sign up for the 3 times a week plan can take English lessons 3 times a week. In addition, there are after school programs where you can learn real-life English and during English speech programs, you can learn English while playing games with foreign teachers. We have bilingual Japanese instructors on site, so we can respond smoothly if you need assistance. I have been involved in English from an early age for many years, and I have felt that simply overloading children in English does not help to improve their English language skill, so I wanted to increase the opportunities to use real English through physical exercise experiments. I chose subjects such as science and gymnastics because our students already have a good sense of English, having learned it since childhood, but they have a bad sense of math, and especially after they advance to elementary school they tend to stagnate in math and science, so the issue was how to make up for other science subjects. Therefore, in introducing this new program, I thought that combining subjects that the children are weak in or don’t feel confident in with English, which they are confident in, they can improve in those subjects that they may not be doing well in. I hope that by conducting experiments in English, playing soccer and dodgeball in English, and doing math in English, which they are weak at, they will be able to learn happily and speak English at the same time. Global’s after school program is different from other after school programs, in that adults do not just give things to children. Instead, they discuss them and think together with the children. We operate under the belief that if there is something the children want to do, they will study hard and make an effort to do it. Many of the current university students who have studied with us since they were young have gone on to study at famous private universities with high standard or overseas schools. Some graduates said they have worked hard at English from a young age, and worked hard studying in other subjects, and doing their homework at Global, which why they were able to get to here they are to get to where they are today. They were able to read and write, and global taught them well, so they have had little trouble with English or exams, and they have been able to develop their thinking skills in After School care, so they hope that the same will be true for Global children in the future. To re-emphasize, this program will help them overcome their subjects and improve their speaking skills.
